COMMENTS: I cut this sapphire about ten years ago, and forgot I had it until I found it in my safe. It was either from Umba, Tanzania or Madagascar and unheated if I remember correctly. However, I was a few signs in the stone that it may have been heat treated, so I'm not going to claim it is not heated at this point. Whatever the case, it's an amazing color and shifts to a purple with magenta pink flashes under incandescent light.
